Whispering Pines dry ice blasting

Whispering Pines work comes to us the same way most of it does: something is coated in build-up and cannot be sanded, soaked or dissolved.

How the work runs here

The compressor runs off the truck, so there is no wash pad to find and no runoff to manage. It is also why nothing has to be crated up and driven across town, the work happens where the machine already sits in Whispering Pines.

The pellet turns straight to gas when it hits, which means no sand in the machine and no sludge on the floor. The only thing to collect is the contaminant itself, and that is included.

Questions from Whispering Pines

Is Whispering Pines in your area?

Yes. Whispering Pines is inside our regular working area, and the rig travels to the job rather than the other way round.

What does the site need to have?

Just access and parking. There is no tap to find, no drain to use and nothing of yours to plug into.

Can you work around our schedule?

Nearly always. Give us the hours you can spare and we will say what genuinely fits inside them.

Who calls you around here?

A mix, vehicle work, shop equipment, marine and light industrial. Same rig, different constraint each time.

Is there a travel charge?

Sometimes, on the longer runs. Either way it is discussed before anyone commits.

How do we book it in?

Describe the job and send a photo or two. Giancarlo or Kenny will call you, not a scheduler.

Why Whispering Pines equipment ends up like this

Humidity is the constant. Anything bare oxidizes faster than it would almost anywhere else. So the job is usually less about scrubbing harder and more about not making the underlying problem worse.

The mix here runs from vehicle work in driveways to production equipment inside industrial units. In every case the truck brings its own air and its own containment, so you are not adapting the site to suit the method.

With no slurry to contain and no media to recover, a confined Okeechobee County site stops being a problem.

What comes off

The deposits we see most

Most jobs start with one of these. The details differ, but the job is always to separate a deposit from what it is stuck to.

  • Adhesive and sealant

The stubborn film under old tape, or the gasket that tore and left half of itself behind.

  • Resin and mold release

Production buildup on tooling and fixtures. Solvent trades one film for another; the pellet removes the residue and disappears.

  • Paint and coatings

Removed selectively where the substrate underneath has to survive, which rules out most abrasive approaches.

  • Salt and corrosion product

Salt deposit and the oxidation it starts. Anything abrasive removes the protection along with the salt.

  • Ink and printing residue

Ink and coating on anilox and press rollers, surfaces where changing the texture changes the print.

  • Food residue

Burnt-on product, fat and sugar on processing gear, with no chemical residue left on a contact surface.

  • Grease and oil

Degreasers leave their own residue behind. Dry ice takes the oil off without adding anything, so there is no chemical left on the part afterward.

How a job runs

What happens once you call

If you have not seen this done before, the process is worth reading once. Nothing below is hidden in a footnote.

  • You look before we pack up

Inspect it with the rig still set up. Anything you are not happy with gets another go before we leave.

  • You describe the job

If there is something nearby that must not get touched, like a sensor, a label or fresh paint, mention it early. That shapes the plan from the very first conversation.

  • We look at access and containment

Access drives the plan: reach, siting, masking, and the route the removed material takes off the job. It is the part customers think about least and we think about most.

  • We test a small area

Settings get proven somewhere nobody looks before they get used somewhere everybody does. What is correct on cast iron will mark aluminum, so the test is not a formality.

  • We blast, then clean up

The ice is gone the moment it does its work. What stays behind is the grease or carbon that came off, and collecting that is part of the job, not an extra.

The comparison

The other ways to do this

  • Solvent and degreaser

It loosens the mess and leaves its own behind, along with fumes and something to dispose of.

  • Hand scraping

Slow, inconsistent, and the tool marks the surface. Fine for a small area, unworkable across a machine.

  • Media blasting

Effective and indiscriminate. On soft metal or a finished surface it does damage you then have to fix.

  • Pressure washing

The water has to go somewhere, and on most equipment that somewhere is inside it.

  • Dry ice

Thermal shock breaks the bond. The pellet sublimates, so nothing abrasive touches the part and nothing is left to collect but the contaminant.

What happens in your space

This is not a quiet method. Ear defenders are standard issue on site for anyone nearby.

The cold is what does the cleaning, so some of it stays in the part for a while. Gloves help if you need to handle it right after we finish.

The truck carries its own compressor. Nothing on your property has to be plugged in or handed over to us.

Masking happens first. Whatever is adjacent and vulnerable gets covered before the hose is picked up.

Send us the job.

What is it, where is it, and what is stuck to it? That is enough to start. Giancarlo or Kenny will answer personally.
